Dissecting Hollywood’s latest plan for demonizing law-abiding gun owners, Part 1 of 2

No_guns.svgThey never seem to stop, do they?

I just found out, thanks to the good folks at CalGuns, about Hollyweird’s latest plan to demonize us, meaning law-abiding gun owners.  They see that the courts aren’t going their way.  So, they’ve now turned to using their control of media to portray us as socially unacceptable.

Sad, but true.  They’ve even got a list of “suggestions” of how to portray us.  Here it is.

http://www.eiconline.org/topic-areas/gun-violence-firearm-safety-injury-prevention/depiction-suggestions/

Constitutional Carry = Safest State in USA

Constitutional Carry =
Safest State in USA

You should read these “suggestions”…because I’m going to dissect them and explain to you where and why they’re wrong.  This needs to be done, just like with David Hemenway and his distortions earlier.

Folks, there is absolutely nothing “Liberal” about disarming the law-abiding public.  There just isn’t.

As if on cue, West Virginia overrode a gubernatorial veto and now has Constitutional Carry!  That makes them the seventh state to follow in Vermont’s lead, for a total of 8 states.  Perhaps Virginia will also return to Constitutional Carry soon.

This is Part 1 of a 2-part series.

Defense against campus rape, carry in Virginia state offices, and why Black lives do matter

Legalize carry for all of us!

Indeed…legalize self-defense carry nationwide!

We’ve got three things to talk about here:

  1. why armed defense against college campus rape is a good thing,
  2. new rules for carrying in Virginia state offices, and
  3. what’s going on with this “war on cops” narrative I keep hearing.

A listener sent me his account of when he was attacked in Texas.  He wasn’t sure if he was going to live or die, as he was unarmed and essentially helpless.  He’s lucky to be alive.  You will hear his account of how he felt.  I’m pretty sure this applies to rape survivors as well.

There are new rules for carrying in offices owned or operated by VA State executive branch agencies.  Basically, you can’t anymore.  This is Executive Order #50, put out by current Gov. Terry McAuliffe (“McAwful?”).  No matter how he tries to frame his action, it doesn’t even qualify as a solution looking for a problem, and I will explain to you why.

Finally, we had yet another incident of racism from a White police officer toward a Black man, a part of the Black Lives matter movement.  The now-former officer was subsequently fired from the force.  This incident inspired a discussion of what’s going on and what police officers generally can do to help the issue.  Yes, all lives do matter…INCLUDING the Black ones.  Let’s not forget that.

When the Black lives matter as much as the White lives, then ALL lives will matter.

When the Black lives matter as much as the other lives (especially including White or “Blue” lives), then “All Lives Matter” will finally be true.  May that day come soon.

Here’s an example that illustrates the problem, from my own hometown of San Francisco, California.  WARNING:  some of the language you will read in the below link is rather offensively racist and bigoted.  But we can’t shy away from it, either.  We’ve got to confront it head-on.

http://gawker.com/the-horrible-bigoted-texts-traded-between-san-francisc-1692183203

We can’t give up, folks.  When the Black lives matter as much as other lives do–especially including White and “Blue” lives, then “All Lives Matter” will finally be true.  May that day come soon!

Episode 45: The “Deal” on Virginia Reciprocity…and Building a CMP M1 Garand!

The CMP Armory, Anniston, AL

The CMP Armory, Anniston, AL

It’s been a little while.  Given what happened in October (see the previous episode), I hope you all can understand why.  If anyone could possibly be the “poster child” for the need to carry, my Dad–the now late C. Terrell Prude’, Sr.–would be it.

But he wasn’t alone.  You’ll also hear the story of a young lady who really needed a gun recently.  Fortunately, there was a Good Guy With A Gun (me) to help her out of a very bad situation.

Speaking of carry…let’s talk about “The Deal” that was hammered out and signed into law recently, regarding carry permits and reciprocity here in the Old Dominion (that’d be Virginia, folks).  It seems that Atty. General Herring’s action caused enough of a firestorm that the McAuliffe Administration had to back off, and quickly.  Not only are we getting reciprocity back…it’s coming back in a new and improved form!  Liberty won this time, folks, because We, The People did our jobs.

And now…let’s talk about a symbol of that very liberty.

Just last week, I attended the CMP’s Advanced Maintenance Class for the M1 Garand rifle.  In three days, I learned how to build a complete, fully functional

This is my rifle! There are many like it, and THIS ONE IS MINE!

This is my rifle! There are many like it, and THIS ONE IS MINE!

M1 Garand.  I know it’s functional because I tested it out on the CMP’s extensive rifle range afterwards!  🙂  This class is a wealth of information, and when it’s all done, that rifle is yours to keep and take home with you.

That’s right, I build my own M1 Garand!  There are many like it, and this one is truly MINE!

Liberty is our best friend.  It is this nation’s life, and there can be no more potent American symbol of the defense of that freedom than this rifle.  It is indeed, “the greatest battle implement ever devised.”

What happens when you don’t have a gun–THEY FINALLY GOT MY DAD

For 83 and a half years, my Dad has lived on this Earth.  Nobody could tell him that he couldn’t exercise his rights as a man, even when they called him “nigger”.  Even when they came at him with kDadAtHisPianonives to kill him.  There was no way that man was going to allow ANYBODY to treat him like he wasn’t a human being.

All that changed a short while ago.  Four very evil people attacked my Dad.  You know he’s a long-time gun owner, so you’d guess what would happen.

Unfortunately, at 83 1/2 years old and using a walker and a cane…he couldn’t get to his gun in time.  Ten years ago, he would’ve gotten to it and stopped them.  He has in the past, on several occasions.  But this time….

This time…they got him.  They broke his neck and left him for dead.  Someone found him, and he’s quadriplegic, now on life support in the emergency ward’s ICU.  He doesn’t have much longer on this earth.

THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU DON’T HAVE A GUN.

The antis want us all to be defenseless, like–unfortunately–my Dad was this last, final time.  The antis want us to be helpless against evil people who might choose us as prey.  Folks, when evil chooses you as prey, it is now up to you to defend yourself.  The cops are minutes away.  Your neck could be broken in seconds.

If we really have become such a degenerate society where this kind of evil can be visited on a senior citizen with a walker and a cane…DAMN RIGHT WE NEED GUNS!!

Just ask the British.

http://countercurrentnews.com/2014/11/british-police-calling-for-knife-ban/

Dad, in your final moments of life, while you’re still here…this episode is dedicated to you.  You taught me how to be a man.  I love you and always will.  And when your time does come, I will be at your side.  I will be NOWHERE ELSE.Guarding-03

And those of you who would do such an evil thing…you’d better pray that I never, ever find you.

Defensive gun users: Wimps? Wusses? One professor says so

Wuss

Yes, it’s true, folks.  We’re officially “wusses” for owning guns.

A Harvard professor said so.  Therefore, it must be true!  😀

There’s some–oh, how did Senator John McCain put it?–ah yes…”wacko bird” of a professor out there.  This so-called “researcher” seems to think those of us who’ve used a gun to defend ourselves from assault are–and I quote–“wimps” and “wusses”.

Yeah, he said that.  Here’s the URL.

http://www.rwjf.org/en/culture-of-health/2013/01/gun_violence_liveh.html

His name is David Hemenway, some guy who apparently “researches” at Harvard.  And he’s engaging in preschool-type name calling.  Wow.

Well, he was part of some “panel discussion” about how Gunz R EEEEEVIL and don’t really belong in the hands of Us, The People.  After all, Granny Goodness knows better.

Why are we doing this now?  We’re doing this because the not-so-good professor has surfaced again, recently, over at the LA Times, with his pseudo-science, on April 22, 2015.  Yep, just under two weeks ago.

http://www.latimes.com/opinion/op-ed/la-oe-hemenway-guns-20150423-story.html

Granny Goodness Knows Best!

Just like we have with Eric “Fast ‘N’ Furious” Holder before, we will take this “professor’s” pseudo-arguments apart and expose them for the falsehoods that they actually are.

That’s our job here–to tell it like it actually is.  That’s the truly Liberal way.

Ammo Bans, and the 1st Amendment

Sure, you can trust the Government!Looks like we’re taking on not just the Second Amendment, but also the First Amendment this time!  We have two examples of violations of Liberalism, one by the Democrats, and one by the Republicans.  Either way, we can’t allow stuff like this to stand, especially from our government officials.

We’re going to discuss why the BATFE’s proposed ban of M855/SS109 ammunition is just silly to do, even *if* they’re on decent legal footing to do so.  And they just might be; we go into that.

We also take on some county officials in Idaho who wanted to officially proclaim the entire State of Idaho, a “Christian state”.  Geez…have these folks never read the Bill of Rights?  We’re going to discuss that, and given where this happened, I’m not too surprised, sadly.

Finally, let’s take a moment to reflect on a man who became iconic around the world.  In both his TV/movie career and his real life, he advised us all to, “live long and prosper”.  Leonard “Mr. Spock” Nimoy, may you rest in peace.

Politics, the Virginia Legislature, and a li’l more LEVERGUN!

Politics and leverguns…kinda odd those two subjects would come together, huh?  But we do it here.

The Virginia State LeVirginiaStateCapitolgislature is now in session.  The antis, now funded by New York billionaire Michael Bloomberg and calling themselves, “Moms Demand Action”, are showing up now in force.  They weren’t doing this before, and we’ll talk about that.

We’ll also talk a bit about what happened in a House Subcommittee hearing, which I attended.  This is what you have to do to keep our Elected Officials in line, folks.  In the process, I finally got to actually see Lori Haas, the self-styled “representative of Virginia Tech parents”, in person.  I think you’ll enjoy this.  🙂

And there’s a new levergun in town, pardners!  Seems I can’t keep my handsRossi92-44Magnum off of these things.  We’ve discussed the Rossi 92 in .357 Magnum (also shoots .38 Special).  Now I’m holding the .44 Magnum version (also shoots .44 Special).  We’ll tell you how that went and how this .44 levergun compares to the Ruger 96/44 levergun.

In a future episode, we’ll talk about handloading for it as well.

A Case for Black Americans to be armed! Part 2

Christmas has come and gone.  The New Year, 2015, is upon us.

IsHisLifeWorthLessOrMoreThanMineLast time, we began our case for Black Americans to arm themselves.  This continuing notion that “guns are BAD!” among so many in the Black American community surprises me, because if history is any indication, Every Last Black Family could use a good .308 Winchester or .30-06 Springfield or something similar (8mm MausAiyanaStanleyJoneser, 7.62x54R Russian, and so on).

This episode is Part 2 of my case for why this should be.  And at one point in our history, it was.  We’re going to talk about that, too.

All you good cops out there, who really do want to make a positive difference in the communities that you police, we need you to stand up and be counted.  Recent events, and history, have shown that we need you now more than ever.

A Case for Black Americans to be armed!

I hope everyone’s Thanksgiving holiday was not just full of good times with family and/or friends, but also, thoughtful for what you have.  Some people won’t get to have that.

By now, everyone’s heard what happened with the grand jury in Ferguson, Missouri.  Some rioting happened as a result.  We’re going to discuss why that happened.  I assure you, it was not because of one teenager named Michael Brown.  Matter of fact, we’re going to discuss the “why” in quite some detail.  As is often the case, I wanted to wait a moment to cover this until I had a chance to think about it.  This is very serious business.

OpposePoliceBrutalityButAppreciateCopsWe’re also going to discuss the benefits of “Black Friday”, i. e. post-Thanksgiving, sales, from a Second Amendment perspective.  The antis don’t like it that a lot of guns are bought on sale during that shopping period.  I’m going to explain why, to the contrary, it’s a good thing.  That’s right, a good thing.

This is Part 1 of a 2-part series, due to the amount of information we need to cover here.

Lightly Burnin’ – a rapper-style ode to the Second Amendment

Funny what gets into your head, sometimes.  Personally, I blame “Weird Al” Yankovic.  🙂

The Bill of Rights

The Bill of Rights

A few days ago, the idea occurred to me to do this rap song.  While it was inspired by a really funny parody, the subject here is actually pretty serious.  We’re having a midterm Congressional election tomorrow, and while the 2A isn’t the only thing we must consider, I’d say it’s up there, right along with the rest of the Constitution.

The goal here was to try to sound like the rappers do.  I’m a beginner with sound processing, but it seems to have turned out pretty decently.

I hope you enjoy it.  I call it, “Lightly Burnin’.”  Lyrics are located here.

With all apologies to both Chamillionaire and Weird Al, the latter of whose parody of “Ridin’ (Dirty)” (called “White & Nerdy”) was the inspiration for this.

No, I’m not making any money off of this, so I firmly believe this falls under the “Fair Use” doctrine.
